intravenous vitamin therapy
IV vitamin infusion therapy is a personalised approach to supporting your health and wellbeing, delivering fluids, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream.
As a Clinical Naturopath and Registered Nurse, I take a personalised, evidence-informed approach to IV therapy. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I consider your individual health history, symptoms, goals and existing pathology when determining whether IV therapy may be appropriate for you.
Whether you're looking to support energy, recovery, hydration, nutrient status or overall wellbeing, your infusion can be tailored to your individual needs.
Book a consultation to discuss your goals, explore whether IV therapy is suitable for you, and create a personalised treatment plan.
what’s special about IV drip therapy?
When you take a supplement, it needs to pass through the digestive system before its nutrients can be absorbed. For people with digestive issues or compromised absorption (which is most of us due to our lifestyle, diet, stress, pesticides and more), this process may not always be optimal.
With IV therapy, nutrients are delivered directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract. This allows us to deliver nutrients systemically without relying on digestion and intestinal absorption. We can also have higher dosages this way, for example, high-dose vitamin C.
This doesn't mean IV therapy is automatically “better” than oral supplements, they each have their place. Rather, IV therapy gives us another tool when we want to provide targeted, higher-dose nutrient support or when oral supplementation may not be the most appropriate option.
where can IV therapy be useful?
There are a range of IV formulations and nutrient combinations available, which can be considered according to your individual health history, nutritional needs and clinical goals.
Some examples include:
Nutrient support: Formulations containing nutrients such as vitamin C, B vitamins, magnesium and zinc may be considered where clinically appropriate.
Energy & nutrient metabolism: B vitamins and other nutrients involved in normal energy metabolism may be incorporated into personalised formulations where appropriate.
Training & recovery: Nutrients such as magnesium, amino acids and antioxidants may be incorporated into formulations designed around individual nutritional and recovery needs.
Hydration support: Adequate hydration is essential for normal cellular function, helping maintain fluid balance and supporting the transport of nutrients and electrolytes throughout the body. IV fluids can provide hydration directly into the bloodstream where clinically appropriate.
Relaxation & nervous system support: Nutrients such as magnesium, GABA, serine and taurine are involved in normal nervous system function and can be incorporated into personalised formulations where clinically appropriate. Magnesium in particular plays a role in normal muscle and nerve function, while amino acids such as GABA, serine and taurine are involved in various processes within the nervous system.
These are just a selection of the formulations available. Your IV treatment is selected based on your individual circumstances rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
